This quantity includes the papers that may be awarded at 'EMC '91 '-the ecu Metals Conference-to be held in Brussels, Belgium, from 15 to twenty September 1991, and arranged through Benelux Metallurgie, GDMB (Gesellschaft Deutscher Metallhutten und Bergleute) and IMM (the establishment of Mining and Metallurgy). 'EMC '91' is the 1st of an meant significant sequence prepared on the eu point with the purpose of bringing jointly all those people who are concerned with the extraction and processing of non-ferrous metals-European metallurgists and their foreign colleagues-to offer them with the chance to switch perspectives at the country and evolution in their undefined. The programme covers the entire diversified facets of the metallurgy of non-ferrous metals from mining to fabricated items. specific realization is being paid to the ecu non -ferrous with recognize to alterations well-liked, the know-how used, pressures at the setting and the aggressive place of brands. The contributions of the plenary teachers (copies of with the intention to seem within the IMM magazine Minerals overseas in 1991-92) and the various authors are gratefully stated. thank you also are as a result of the referees of the papers, the sponsors, the firms that experience allowed registrants to go to their operations, the chairmen of the technical periods and the staffs of the organizing our bodies for his or her effective administrative paintings. Their working ratios have been improved for the last ten years in particular for coke rate, lead bullion output, manpower and energy per ton. This, and the well known flexibility of this kind of furnace with regard to raw materials, allow them to increase its competitivity. In addition, this process has also to comply with the challenge of environmental regulations in particular for dust and S02 emissions. The major target is the treatment of sintering offgases. It will be reached in the near future due to specific investments.

Betriebliche Beobachtungen bestatigen dies.
